GIZ wanted to understand the baseline state of climate change modelling practices in Georgia, in the context of overall economic modelling and policy planning. The task included conducting detailed overview of existing methods and instruments currently used in analyses and planning of climate change into economic forecasts and policymaking, evaluating existing competencies of various public institutions to do such analyses, data availability and requirements. Through qualitative and quantitative research TBSC identified gaps, evaluated the needs for capacity development and provided recommendations on support measures.
