Georgia has a very old and interesting spices producer but this sector has never been researched before. CNFA, through the USAID Agriculture program, commissioned TBSC Consulting to carry out detailed overview and industry research of the Georgian spices sector. The study analyzed all aspects of the industry, its main economic indicators and growth drivers as well as key players of the industry and their challenges, overviewed import and export trends, overviewed the relevant international markets for spices and consumer preferences and trends, identified the most prospective indigenous Georgian spices, subject to Geographic Indications and Protected Designation of Origin, with high export potential to be further supported.
