Policy Entry Points for Climate Modeling in Georgia (Advanced Baseline) (2020)

GIZ helps the government of Georgia and other relevant stakeholders in Georgia to develop climate change modeling capacities and introduce climate change modeling into overall economic modeling. In this regard, GIZ wanted to understand the baseline state of policy of dealing with climate change modelling practices in Georgia, in the context of overall economic modelling and policy planning. The task included conducting detailed overview of existing policy documents and institutional players, relevant to climate change and economic planning and policymaking, evaluating existing competencies of various public institutions and identifying the most optimal areas of entry. TBSC identified entry points for introducing and mainstreaming climate modeling into economic modeling carried out in the country and developed recommendations.
