MEC is a donor-supported provider of multimedia education to students in university journalism programs. MEC faced significant decreases in donor funding, necessitating a deep analysis to develop a sustainable strategy. In work sponsored by HICD-2020, TBSC researched the market for multimedia training among universities and other potential client segments. We assessed demand, supply from competitors, financial prospects and so forth. We examined ten markets that MEC might compete in, developed a range of strategic alternatives, recommended the best alternative and then worked with MEC to decide and implement the agreed upon strategy.
